Introduction:

"Dances of Vice started as a 1920-30s themed dance and cabaret club night hosted by Lucas Lanthier and Shien Lee in August 2007. It takes place monthly at The Pussycat Lounge in celebration of the early 20th century days of forgotten elegance, decadence, creativity, and vice.

Since our debut, we have attracted increasing press attention, and generated an established audience of elegant flappers, dandies, time travelers and ne'er-do-wells. The success of our monthly nights have led to plans of expanding the event to our first annual two-day festival event, which is to take place on February 8th and 9th.

As always, our aim is to enrich the New York art culture by promoting the music and art we love, and to generate interest and appreciation for the beauty of times forgotten. We are not historical reconstructionists; Dances of Vice seeks to revive the music and performance culture of the past in a modern context, encouraging originality and creativity."
